Dr. Calat is not a good surgeon. He pulled my infected tooth 2 years ago and sent me on my way without discussing a replacement treatment plan. I reached out to him on my own to come in for an implant, and he performed a very aggressive procedure that ended up in failure and extraction of the implant. He assured me the entire time leading up to the procedure that I'm in excellent candidate and did not once mention risk of failure (I understand, of course, that failure is possible in any procedure, but would expect a responsible surgeon to discuss the stats with me). When I asked him what went wrong, he shrugged and said he doesn't know. When I asked why he didn't put a bone graft immediately after cleaning out the infected area post initial extraction, he said that he did. I had to remind him that he did not, and only then did he admit that he's not sure what he did or did not do, and he has to check his charts. I recently received a second opinion and was told that all 3 procedures he performed (sinus lift, bone graft, and implant) would have to be done all over. Most insurance plans have a 5 year replacement clause, which mean that I will have to pay out of pocket. I am horrified that I ever trusted Dr. Calat and his pr
