Dr. Calat is not a good surgeon. He pulled my infected tooth 2 years ago and sent me on my way without discussing a replacement treatment plan. I reached out to him on my own to come in for an implant, and he performed a very aggressive procedure that ended up in failure and extraction of the implant. He assured me the entire time leading up to the procedure that I'm in excellent candidate and did not once mention risk of failure (I understand, of course, that failure is possible in any procedure, but would expect a responsible surgeon to discuss the stats with me). When I asked him what went wrong, he shrugged and said he doesn't know. When I asked why he didn't put a bone graft immediately after cleaning out the infected area post initial extraction, he said that he did. I had to remind him that he did not, and only then did he admit that he's not sure what he did or did not do, and he has to check his charts. I recently received a second opinion and was told that all 3 procedures he performed (sinus lift, bone graft, and implant) would have to be done all over. Most insurance plans have a 5 year replacement clause, which mean that I will have to pay out of pocket. I am horrified that I ever trusted Dr. Calat and his pr

Dr.Calat is a phenomenal doctor, not only highly skilled but compassionate too. Took me in just as they where closing because of the pain I was experiancing. Then he removed my tooth with precision and care. I'm very happy with my visit

We visited Dr. Calat's office in the city when my fiance' was referred to him by our dentist Dr. DePaola. Dr. Calat treated us with tender loving care. He is awesome, so personable, funny, and he really made us feel so comfortable as he explained exactly what the procedure entailed. As a Patient Treatment Coordinator myself, I have to mention, his front desk staff was very warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Calat to all of my friends, family, and our patients here at The Practice at Maxwell. Thank you soo very much Dr. Calat for treating us so well!!

I phoned Dr. Calat's office to make an important to have painful wisdom teeth extracted. I woke up the following day with infection and phoned back in hopes of an emergency appointment . They were able to get me in within 24 hours with surgery planned. I am exceptionally anxious and neurotic when it comes to medical procedures. Dr. Calat's bedside manner is unlike any other physician. He is EXTREMELY personable, mild mannered, funny and completely put me at ease (and to sleep). The procedure was seriously a cake walk compared to what I had imagined. I have a very high tolerance for pain except for my mouth. Since the procedure last night I have only taken Tylenol and feel wonderful opposed to what I was expecting. Every member of Dr. Calat's team deserves 5 stars!

Dr Calat is simply the best oral surgeon for me. He calmed me down made me relaxed, and explained every step in detail so I knew exactly what was happening before it happened. I sincerely recommend him as the best.

I had two Wisdom Teeth removed and a Cyst drained. I am 62 and the procedure went extremely well. I requested to be anesthetized and incurred no issues. Dr Calat's chair-side manner is very calming. The office staff and dental assistants are very professional. All insurance coverage and billings were clearly listed and presented prior to my procedure. Post surgery, I was prescribed antibiotics and pain medication. I had no real pain issues other than was to be expected after minor surgery and stopped taking any pain meds within two days. Never experienced any real discomfort post op. I would highly recommend Dr Calat to all friends and family. Thanks to the staff for their excellent service.

Dr. Calat is fantastic!, The best!!! This was my 2nd time, the 1st was the extraction of an impacted wisdom tooth. In this case, I needed to remove a broken molar that was shaved down for the temporary crown I had but the tooth had become infected. I knew the only person I wanted to touch it was Dr. Calat--he is an extremely skilled surgeon, & his team is wonderful!! He is calm, soothing & just an overall nice human being. I was awake for this go 'round unlike being under anesthesia for the wisdom tooth & when someone is literally pulling the tooth out of your mouth it's a bit disconcerting. To calm myself when the tugging got intense, I started humming. The doctor, to help me joined in as did his assistant!!!!! It was so incredibly sweet & kind that I started laughing!!! Yes, laughing while my tooth is being pulled out!!! But before I knew it, out it was.
Due to scheduling challenges, Dr. Calat was kind to squeeze me into an immensely packed day to make sure I could have the procedure before I left town for a lengthy trip cause that tooth needed to come out!! Boy did I appreciate that.
Post op: NO pain, some swelling but not alot & the gum is healing very nicely. Thank you Dr. Calat & staff!!! :-)

I have never reviewed anything or anyone but this time I must. I have never really had any surgeries or teeth issues. But somehow one of my teeth cracked and I needed an extraction. I went to 3 dentists and 2 oral surgeons before I found dr Calat. I was not comfortable with any of them and they all had different diagnosis!!! Finally I went to dr Calat and my experience is a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10. I have severe phobia of needles pain blood etc. so needless to say I was a freak about this procedure. He recommended I get the general anesthesia so that I would not know what was going on. Best thing ever!!! I remember crying in the chair as they were giving me the Iv because I was so petrified of what was to come. Next thing I knew I was asking him if he was ready to start and he laughed and said its done!!!! Even right after I felt no pain!!!! He is amazing!!! I just had extracted in nov so I have not started the implant process but based on my experience with the extraction which is the worst part I am sure it will be a piece of cake!

Great dentist/oral surgeon. I had 2 extractions of molars a few days a go. His great surgical ability as extracted the 2 molars easily. He spoke to me at length and showed by example how he would restore my upper teeth. I have great confidence that he is the man to do this difficult job
