My wife saw Dr. Kurilenko and she was charged $50.00. Actually checkups are free as per our policy.
She was diagnosed with a badly infected molar which required extraction.
On the day of the extraction another doctor did it. This Dr. was NOT in-network (Dr. Kurilenko knew full well we were there because we wanted to deal with an in-network dentist) the copay jumped from to 40% Today she went for a root canal (on a molar where she felt no discomfort)
She asked for an extraction,n she was told that it was needed for the Bridge . My wife is Hispanic and does not speak English. So she accepted. She was told the root canal would only be $115.00 so they proceeded After she was asked to pay $175 for a post and $550 for a crown. A supervisor heard this and corrected the assistant saying Crowns were $650.00. Suddenly the cheap $115 becomes $940.
My wifes molar was perfect in strength, but without asking they reduced the molar to a stump to accept the crown
She is then asked to pay for the post in advance ($175) but she could not get a CC receipt because they were out of paper
Calling the CC Company I verified that she had been charged $175.00 for the prepaid post, 115.00 for the root canal and a mysterious $1.10.
We still need to add the crown at $650
My wife was treated by 3 dentists none of which was the one she expected to see nor IN-NETWORK I strongly advise anyone in the Howard Beach area of New York to avoid Dr. Y. Kurilenko.
