I had problems with my bite that were causing pain and tooth movement. 2 Other dentists wanted over $35,000 to treat my condition. Dr. Redfern treated me over a long period at a much lower cost using a dental splint which he periodically adjusted. My dental problems were stabilized and I am now pain free. I wear my splint every night and will have to continue wear it indefinitely. I am very happy with the outcome of my treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Redfern for dental pain and bite related problems.

I saw Dr. Redfern for TMD problems following a traumatic brain injury from a car accident. He ordered an MRI of my jaw, did casts and put me in a therapeutic splint. He told me he was going to follow up on the splint in nine months, which he did not. After reminding him more than once (and did I mention I have a brain injury?), he finally reviewed the MRI he'd ordered over a year earlier, only to find it was not normal, as the reviewing radiologist had determined. Before I settled my lawsuit, I'd been seeing him for unscheduled shots in both jaws from all the stress, and he even gave me some deposition prep so he knew I was close to settling. AFTER I settled, he informed me I needed retesting, recasting, a new splint, and possibly braces: thousands of dollars I didn't plan for when settling. Needless to say, he was fired, and today I saw Dr. James Colt, who informed me the splint I was in was actually negatively affecting my bite, but all I need is a better splint, not thousands of dollars of retesting and so on. My total bill for messing up my bite from Redfern was almost $14,000.00. I would not recommend Dr. Redfern to anyone I liked, but I would recommend Dr. Colt to everyone.

Dr. Redfern has been magic for me. Dentists had told me for years when adjusting crowns and fillings "bite, just bite" - until my bite was so out of kilter that my jaw was grinding itself into oblivion. Dr. Redfern knows how to figure such things out - and he's fixing this for me! I had significant, horrible sleep apnea, to the point that my ENT wanted to cut my hyoid =:-O It's gone! I had jaw pain. Gone! I was developing speech problems related to the jaw problems. Gone! I am so incredibly grateful to this man. He is transcendently smart about jaw joints, and unusually, uniquely well-trained from having rebuilt many jaws in Vietnam, and from a lot of training in the Air Force on how to do that. He knows what he's doing. He is very kind. Go to him, go to him, go to him. (And see Dr. Andrew Miller for a nearby general-purpose dentist.)
