forced to go here via my HMO I have been nothing but disappointed, having to contact my insurance with every treatment plan making sure the office wasn't double billing procedures. even so, a simple filling replacement has turned into a root canal and now gum surgery - and i have a very healthy dental history. Moral of the story: if you have to go to this office (i saw Dr. Tran) make sure to contact and recontact your insurance - however, beware they do not treat savvy patients well.

I know this doctor: 2 months

Hands down the worst service and worst dentist I have ever had. He was not personable, the staff was incompetent and the focus of the practice was solely on making money. Unnecessary procedures were recommended and they even tried to make me pay a copay when there should not have been one. I am absolutely disgusted by this place.

I am changing dentists because: 1. I was unable to speak with or be treated by Clark Fong 2. The substitute dentist is not licensed in my state 3. The office personnel are unresponsive =============================================== Clark Fong, DDS is in the San Mateo office once a week at best and not at all at worst. I had a cleaning on a day that he wasn't in the office and left a message for him to call me regarding the course of treatment the substitute dentist recommended. He never called, despite my repeated requests via subsequent phone messages. The office personnel are substandard. The worst offense is that in the absence of Dr. Fong, the "dentist" that treated me is not listed as a licensed dentist with the Dental Board of California, per my search of the Board's website: http://www.dbc.ca.gov/license_verification.html I enjoyed this practice for many years, even before Fong took over the practice. My original dentist retired and introduced Fong to me personally, in an erstwhile successful effort to keep me as a patient. Please do not give this office your business. It is my understanding the Fong has multiple offices, but I suggest you seek the services of another dentist - AVOID FONG !!

One of the worst dentists I've ever been to. I do not trust them at all. My wife and I just moved here and had been going to our prior dentist for 6 years with no problems (e.g. no cavities, etc). Then when we got here, my wife was told that she had 6 cavities that needed to be fixed urgently...seems fishy to me. How does one dentist miss 6 cavities for 6 years and then 6 months later another finds SIX! He also suggested that she have her molar removed even though it wasn't bugging her. Really felt like they were trying to make as much money as possible off of us. Then on top of it all, when we asked questions, they got defensive and all the staff were pretty rude. I will never go back and feel I need to warn people
