I went to Dr. Carey for 2 annual cleanings. After the first time, I thought, "Maybe it was an off day. I should give him another chance." I surprised myself that I had such an adverse reaction to his care, but couldn't deny that I was dissatisfied, uncomfortable, and wanted to find another dentist. 1) My teeth didn't feel particularly clean afterward, 2) He scratched my face with his tools a couple times, 3) His general technique was careless and messy (I was drenched in water), 4) His chair-side manners were well-intentioned but awkward, and 5) His choice of ambient music got on my last nerve. I do think that Dr. Carey likes his job and is a nice guy, but I get the feeling that it's time to retire. I would NOT recommend him as a dentist, when there are so many other places that are much more comfortable.
