My family and I went to Dr. Lee for over 9 years, but had a bad experience recently. We will no longer use him as our dentist. Although the record from my first visit showed that I had a prior TMJ problem, he used a procedure that caused some serious damage to my jaw. Without discussing it with me, he used a dam that forced my mouth to be held open very wide for over 30 minutes. It was painful and I gagged several times. I got lockjaw the next day and had to go back. He couldn't do anything. I have had pain and inability to open my mouth fully ever since then (2 years). I went back to him one year after it happened for a regular cleaning and checkup and he said he couldn't do the checkup because he couldn't get my mouth open enough. He said that he could only fix the problem by reconstructing my entire mouth (the shape of all my teeth) which would cost more than $40,000! Avoid this dentist if you have any TMJ issues.
