This is a practice of three brothers who somehow all became dentists; my dentist was Robert. The thing is that most of your interaction at this practice will be with your hygienist -- I have had more than one and they were uniformly excellent. If you want to or need to see your dentist, however briefly, that requires a separate appointment, a procedure I have not previously experienced which is highly inconvenient. That means you will also pay a separate fee, and the costs here are not low. Although I have never doubted Dr. Aronoff's competence, the practice seemed increasingly geared towards cosmetics. At times, I felt like my check-ups with him were quasi-sale pitches for treatments I did not want or wasn't sure I needed, and I ultimately lost confidence in his recommendations. As for the front desk, they are not very helpful in obtaining the minimal insurance benefits you might be able to get. In short, if you don't need much dental work, just a good, regular cleaning, and are willing to pay a premium for an excellent hygienist and want to be in Soho, this may be your place, but otherwise I can't recommend it.
