Yes, Dr. Buxt is more pricey than other endodontists that I compared his office with, but "you get what you pay for" and it was worth every penny. I had 3 root canals, and each one was almost totally pain-free. I say, "almost", because one tooth was badly infected. It simply would not respond well to the lidocaine. It became apparent that this was going to be a bad deal, simply because the tooth was so bad. Dr. Buxt performed an alternate procedure to start the process. By doing so, he took steps to minimize the pain as much as possible, and used as much lidocaine and epinephrine as he could to at least make the process bearable. Despite the (modest) pain, it could have been much worse, and Dr. Buxt was sympathetic to my needs. He did the pulpectomy and I had instant relief. I was actually able to eat a fat beef sndwich and even ice cream that same evening without any pain medicine! When I returned to complete the root canal on that tooth, the rest of the treatment WAS painless! The other two were very straightforward and went painlessly, even with twisty roots.
