Dr. Toro makes having a root canal a downright pleasurable experience. Yes, I know that sounds impossible, and I swear I'm not a masochist. My first root canal experience, with an endodontist who was in my regular dentist's practice, was horrific (he told me there wouldn't be any pain as the local anesthetic was now fully effective, right before jamming one of those nasty tools right up a TOTALLY unanesthetized root canal, really hard). When I screamed in pain and protest, he acted like it was all my fault, saying that "well when it's all infected like this, sometimes the anesthetic can't get through" (so why did he assure me it wouldn't hurt, and why didn't he start by probing gently instead of viciously?). An oral surgeon later found that this root canal job was incomplete. When my dentist told me I needed another root canal, I told him he would have to refer me to someone other than his sadistic co-worker. He sent me to Dr. Toro, and I had a completely pain-free root canal. A couple of years later I needed another one, and had a repeat of the pain-free experience with Dr. Toro, so I know it was no fluke. She asked me about every 20 seconds if there was any pain, but there never was, during or after the procedures.
