Dr. Chen is very friendly and warm. I really appreciate that she explains every procedure she is doing thoroughly and gives me the chance to ask any questions.
My experience with Dr. Chen includes several 6-month checkups, a few fillings, and two crowns. I think in general I have gotten quite good care, but I rated "treatment success" as 2-star because of this:
About a year ago she discovered a problem that she said would eventually need a crown. She didn't make it sound like a big deal, just something she "would keep an eye on", so I chose to wait. Unfortunately putting it off turned that problem into a root canal, a crown, then more endodontic treatment, and it may eventually cause me to lose the tooth. I wish she had conveyed more of a sense of urgency. Dr. Chen is fairly young, and I think maybe if she had more experience she would have treated it differently.
The dental practice, Wallingford Dental Arts, is terrific and has great customer service. My only complaint is that they sometimes sub in a dentist or hygienist without telling me ahead of time. I would rather reschedule in that case and I wish they would contact me.
I really have no idea how they compare in cost because I didn't shop around much.
