Steve Rubin is amazing! He has the knack for putting you at ease and explaining to you EXACTLY what he's going to do. He shows you x-rays (away from the dreaded dental chair) and gives you whatever options exist for treatment as well as telling you what treatment he prefers and why. He listens, he answers questions. His nursing and office staff are helpful, polite, and gentle. The man has golden hands. I am, unfortunately, quite an expert on oral surgery, and I have never had any work on me with such gentleness. Swelling has always been minimal and pain as well. Once a procedure didn't "work," and Dr. Rubin counseled re-doing the procedure (at no additional cost to me even though I waited over a year to do it). As far as I'm concerned, he should be rated #1 among NY oral surgeons and implant specialists. He is a lovely man and a careful, skilled clinician. Can't say enough good things. Only sorry I didn't find him before some other people made me quite unhappy.

About Front Desk: Wonderful. You can tell a lot about a doctor from his front office staff, and these folks are a perfect introduction to a fine doctor. They are polite, kind, flexible, helpful, and extremely nice. They get that you are in pain, that sometimes you get things wrong, and they are unflappable and lovely to deal with.

My mother has gone to Doctor Rubin twice, once for a fairly difficult procedure and another time for implants. In the case of both treatments and their follow ups, the Doctor, his staff and the over all experience could not have been better. They were all friendly, helpful, concerned (or very good actors - either way, we were happy) and quite expert in their roles. No... it was not cheap economically - however, considering one does not have to worry, does not have to have any additional procedures and has a pleasant experience when expecting something so much worse... it was absolutely worth it. I had two wisdom teeth removed (my 2nd and 3rd procedures). Considering how traumatic my first experience with another Dr was, I was expecting the worst. Turns out to have been like spending a afternoon with friends. The cost was actually on the lower end of what I was expecting ... I can not give a more heartfelt recommendation.

This man negligently dropped a dental tool into my windpipe while doing a dental implant. the tool lodged in my lung. I was under general anesthesia through the proedure. After only 30 minutes of anesthesia recovery he forced me awake, put my winter coat on me and with his secretary, walked me as far as his front door, and pushed me out while directing me to seek a radiologist for stupidly swallowing a dental instrument. I could not walk and fell to the sidewalk once outside his office. What's worse is there was a foot of snow. Fortunately concerned New Yorkers gathered and helped me into a taxi. I was awaken several hours later by my crying partner who saw my blood-stained pillow. he immed. called an ambulance, went to NYC Langone hosp. was quickly admitted and operated on to remove the tool from my left lower lobe of my lung. WARNING! This man is dangerous. I have no doubt that if this situation were repeated, priority ONE will always be, his hyde and fleeing from medical responsibility. Even worse, as severity increases to possible fatality, he will burn valuable healing moments, not to fix his mistake/s, NO, but to distance himself from blame in spite of the helpless patient who lay before him.

As someone who is very phobic of dental work of any kind, I have found Dr. Rubin to be one of the most compassionate, caring and confident professionals. He and his staff have been so caring and amazing to me in so many ways. I have had several oral surgery's with Dr. Rubin and he and his staff have my complete trust! His office is top of the line, and I would and have sent people that I love his way. Trust me this guy is kind, generous, and funny as well. He will really listen to you. Good luck, Sini Anderson
