I went for xrays and teeth cleaning she saw other problems and went over them with me
she took her time to explain everything I thought she was very friendly and knowledgeable she had a visual xray machine which I thought was awesome The receptionist was friendly and did follow-up I think she is Amazing

I have been a patient for about 11 years. I received crowns, fillings, cleanings and laser cleanings. On the positive, she tries to make the patient feel comfortable. She tries to make the environment inviting. On the negative side, it s expensive, out-of-network and she s cranky. The personality reviews are true. She does always seem irritated. My major problem with her is that she is always trying to sell me something--like upsell me or cross-sell me. And, some procedures I had done, 5 years later she says, "Well, for this reason, we need to do it again or put in a new crown etc."
About Front Desk: Front desk staff is poor. There has been very high turnover. Each time, is someone new. They are bad about responding to inquiries.
About Hygienist: The hygienists have turned over a lot. Each time it's someone different. Most have been skillful and friendly.

Dr. Nathanson is a very great and gentle dentist. She did a great job and I would certainly recommend both her and the whole Madison Dental Spa team!

In the past two years, I've had a number of procedures done including my regular check up. I found Dr. Nathanson to be friendly, professional and quite knowledgeable. Her bedside manners were that of a caring professional. I've since have refer my fiancé and will very soon do whitening before the big day.
About Front Desk: I think that the office manager, Diane was very helpful as well as knowledgable. She has always explain my financial options time as well as my insurance benefits.

Although I found Dr. Nathanson to be an ok dentist, I no longer go to her because of the way she dealt with my insurance situation. Dr. Nathanson requires fees to be paid up front, with insurance filed after the appointment. Dr. Nathanson assured me multiple times, as did her staff, that she would file insurance paperwork for me after I had paid her in full at the time of the visit. However, despite trying to get her to follow through on this promise multiple times after each of my visits, Dr. Nathanson never filed the paperwork for ANY of my visits, leaving me out quite a bit of money. If you are someone who uses dental insurance and/or gets reimbursed based on your dentist submitting paperwork, I would not recommend going to Dr. Nathanson - if your experience is anything like mine, you will never get her to file the paperwork and therefore you will end up paying her full fee, which is quite expensive.

Going to Dr. Robin Nathanson was not a pleasant experience at all! Her demeanor is not particularly warm. Her equipment is rather old. There was alot of pushing of cosmetic dentistry when all I needed was a cleaning.
Her prices were the highest I've seen of an NY dentist!

I went to Dr. Nathanson after my roommate referred her; I thought she was great, and I was pleased with my general check-up/cleaning. I would go back!

My visits with Dr. Nathanson were frustrating on a number of levels.
Although she seems like a skilled dentist, her staff isn't trained well (as evidenced by her constantly yelling at them to do things right.) For a patient, it is very discomforting to have your dentist yell at her staff as they have their fingers in your mouth.
Also, her prices are at least 25-30% higher than comparable dentists in the area (whose rates I checked after having work done by her). Her work space, while functional, is old and dirty--she is, I hear, looking for a new location.
Overall, based on my general experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Nathanson.
