My husband and I trust Dr. Ritholtz completely. We've gone to him for many years. He and his staff always take their time, listen to us, make sure we're comfortable (both physically and emotionally), and they make sure their work is done properly. He took such pains with a crown on one of my top front teeth that it was completely indistinguishable from the adjoining teeth; he'd insisted on sending me to have the crown "handpainted" in order to make sure that that would be the case, and that it would be up to his standards. He cares passionately about teeth; as odd as that might seem to the rest of us, it makes for a dentist who's enthusiastic about his work, as well as being warm and caring.

I know this doctor: 15 years

The pain lingers for a long time (weeks) after almost any procedure: he often has to repeat procedure - usually due to a miscalculation on his part. He leaves his patients hanging in emergency situations and does not return emergency calls. The crowns often fall off shortly after they are put in (incorrectly applied or wrong adhesive). He SHOULD NEVER do multiple root canals (often messes up). He undertakes tasks he (or his staff) cannot perform. He is extremely expensive and you have to pay before the procedure is completed (after the first visit of each procedure. Other doctors in his office are fair, but his support staff seems incompetent ,with few exceptions. He does not give you a fair warning about possible complications or pain so you often caught unawares (at work, or during a vacation). The hygienist is good. Dr.Ritholtz's chair-side manners are very good. The front desk people are disconnected and aloof. They are not really there for you when you need them.

I received treatment from one of his partners, Dr. Caroline Quiong, who was very knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. She did try to push a whitening treatment, however.

My experience with Dr. Ritholtz has always been very positive. He has a very pleasant manner and his dental work seems trustworthy. I've had a tooth extraction and cosmetic work done. All his assistants are overall quite pleasant too.

He is assuring and comforting , but his work quality is shoddy, I'm on this site because I need a new dentist to fix several of his fillings which break , crack and get infected underneath even though I was always assured he was using better material and not the status quo. (seems like all nonsense now ) There is also a lot of pressure for expensive work not really needed such as crowns replacements, implants and teeth whitening.
