Dr. Kurban was fine, but he picked on my profile and made me very self-conscious. I went to him only for orthodontic services (I already have a regular dentist that I love). He proceeded to tell me I swallowed wrong and needed 4 cavities fixed. He also had his assistant take x-rays, which I did not ask for and was told I wouldn't be charged for (well, they charged the insurance company and didn't tell me that part). The cost I was quoted was way above the other 2 orthodontists I went to. He wanted to adjust the top teeth, which were perfectly straight. Didn't make sense to me to adjust something with a perfect bite mark. I just got the feeling that I would walk away spending way more than I needed. I didn't mind spending the money, I was expecting to, but I wanted to feel like what I was paying for was fair. And I did not get that impression.

About Front Desk: Front desk was nice. They were able to get quick quotes on the service I was looking for but I found out later they charged my insurance company for services I thought I was receiving for free. Depending on how you look at it, it's very shady to me. They then send follow-up emails, and a few months later I got a reminder that I was overdue for scheduling an appointment. Overall, very, very pushy. Ortho/dentists cause enough anxiety as it is... when I walk away feeling like I'm getting scammed, that's not a good sign.

I had Invisalign done with Dr. Kurban. He priced very fairly and eveyrone at his office was superbly helpful. He did seem a bit rushed at times so it made voicing some concerns more difficult. While I am personally not a fan of Invisalign, it certainly was not Dr. Kurban's mistake--just that the trays to too easily lost and difficult to wear.

I went to Dr. Kurban on the recommendation of someone who had extensive work done by him and who said that they never experienced pain or discomfort. As I am someone who has had some bad experiences with dentists in the past, especially related to pain, I was eager to give Dr. Kurban a try. I had four crowns done, including significant drilling to remove decay under old filings previousy in those four teeth, and I hardly felt any pain. It takes longer than usual for me to respond to novacaine but Dr. Kurban was patient and willing to give me further injections and allow time to make sure that I was sufficiently numb before doing any work. Dr. Kurban is able to make crowns in his office using a sophisticated, computer-based CAD/CAM milling process that allows him manufacture and fit cermamic crowns in one visit. I had three crowns done in one day and walked out of the office with all of the work completed, no temporary crowns and follow-up visits. This was a long appointment but it was made enjoyable by Dr. Kurban's gentle and caring style, his patience, and his willingness to explain all the proceedures clearly and in detail. I highly recommend him to those who want thorough dental work without the pain.

Dr Kurban is does a great job but is not cheap. My dental guard mouthpiece was $400. But I am willing to pay more for a good dentist and he is worth it. I had grinded my teeth almost flat and he rebuilt the tops of my teeth using some sort of white cement. And he has a computer he talks to to give measurements of your gum recession.

Dr. Kurban does a very good job explaining to the patient all about their dental options. He informed me a few months ago that my wisdom teeth would need to be removed and I did not listen to hiis advice. I ended up with two infections and now with Kurban's advice I have given into my fear of dental surgery and folllowed up with Kurban's oral surgeon reccomendation. I am set to get my wisdom teeth removed tommorrow and have full confidence in Kurbans reccomendation.
