Dr. Kaplan was to repair my fractured premolar. He was going to grind my tooth to a peg and put in a crown. I fortunately said no and had him fill and build it a little with the understanding that I would be on liquids. He charged $550 for about 1 hour. In the meantime, I found that a partial crown may be put in giving as much stability as a full crown. Dr. Kaplan did not offer this option. He was a rip-off and was also perhaps not educated in recent medical procedures.

I've gone to Dr. Kaplan for many years and have recommended him to at least 5 other people, all of whom have made him their permanent dentist. He is informative, kind and thoughtful, always making sure I'm not in pain while the work is being done. He will get you in on time and get you out in a timely manner, without it seeming like you are being rushed.
I've had root canals, crowns, teeth pulled, bonding on some teeth, so my experience with his practice is extensive.
About Hygienist: They use a water pick, which cleans thoroughly without too much of that hard scaping.

I've been going to Dr. Kaplan a looong time. He's provides the best caring, quality care!
About Hygienist: The hygienist is snooty and bossy but does a good job.

Overall, I really avoid dentists when I can but one of the reasons that I keep Dr. Kaplan as my dentist is because he is so wonderful with his patients. He always explains procedures to the patient and reassures them during the procedure, but he never tells a patient anything that isn't true just to try and make them feel better. He is as honest as they come and he has my total trust. I have had cleanings, fillings, and most recently root canals done and he knows that I am a total "chicken" when it comes to dental pain, he has always been great throughout the entire procedure. I feel very fortunate to have him as my dentist.

Dr. Kaplan is quite a good dentist and his prices are reasonable. He is very personable and thoroughly explains about procedures, etc. His office could use some updating, though. And digital X-rays would be nice.
