Complete failure. Was worse off for going to him. I regret going to his office. He was reckless and completely missed my issues. Now I'll pay for his mistakes for the rest of my life.

I've had dental implants and they have been a complete success They look great and feel like my natural teeth. Have also had veneers that are great, really natural. Have a great smile since moving to DC and meeting Dr Marx. If you have an emergency Dr Marx will see you the same day How many Doctors can you say that about? The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to be very helpful.

About Hygienist: Wow the hygienist spend an hour with you. She is very gentle, thorough, friendly. When I leave my teeth feel great.

Avoid. Should have come to this site earlier and read the reviews that said he's sloppy. That's the truth. Messed up my mouth alignment, now I have to go elsewhere to get it fixed.

I can only speak for myself, but had a horrible experience. He ruined my mouth. It's cost me an enormous amount of time, pain and money to undo the damage he did.

No attention to detail. Led to major complications. I cannot recommend him.

I can't say anything good, unfortunately. He botched my implants, misdiagnosed an infection on two occasions. He dismissed my warnings and led me to have serious health issues.

Since I moved to DC in 1984, Dr. Marx has provided me general dental care, cleaning, fillings, root canals, caps, crowns, invisiligns, and veneers. At an early age, I had several traumatic dental experiences, and I have a very small mouth, which can create problems. Alan Marx is the only dentist I will let near my mouth. Although he doesn't take my insurance directly, the office files my insurance claims and is very accommodating. His front office staff are his wife and sister-in-law, who are excellent. The front office and exam rooms are very nice and comfortable, and always clean. Over the years, he has had a couple of sub-par dental assitants and hygienists who were promptly removed after complaints. I would recommend Dr. Marx to others without reservation.

About Hygienist: Sheila is the only hygienist I will allow to clean my teeth. She does an excellent job, has a great chair side manner, is gentle but thorough.

Avoid. No attention to detail. While he's certainly a nice guy, he missed important issues and ultimately forced me to go to another doctor to finish my treatment. I cannot recommend.

Dr Marx is very pleasant. His injections are pain free. His work is excellent and I am so pleased with my crowns and the veneers he did. The office is beautiful and the staff is very accommadating. I have sent many of my friends and family to his office. I enjoy going and having my teeth cleaned. The hygienist is terrific. It feels so good when I am finished, my teeth feel very clean. When I leave the office I feel like I have had a very thorough check up.

I like him at first, but when he attempted to do three crowns at once, I began to have qualms. Later, I developed odd, somewhat painful sensations in the throat and was told, by an ENT, that the muscles of my mouth and throat had been traumatized by too much dental work at once. Then, I developed an abcess around one of the teeth and turned out that the cement used to bond the crown to the tooth had not been completely cleaned out of the gum socket. Now I am on my way to an endodontist because it is likely that the tooth should never have had a crown put on it because it is cracked. I told his assistant that I will not be back. He was expensive--and, in my humble opinion, and the opinion of the dentist I am now seeing, incompetent.
