Dr. Michael G. Landy has always provided the most wonderful, painfree dentistry for me and my family. Recently he recreated my smile with the use of LUMINEERS, and I can't tell you how pleased I am. It has changed my whole personality. I was shy and introverted and never smiled. Now I can't stop smiling and every has noticed the change in my appearance and behavior. Additionally, Dr Landy did INVISALIGN on my wife and her teeth look amazingly straight and perfect. He didn't use any metal braces, but rather these invisible aligner which effortlessly moved my wife's teeth into their correct positions within just a few months. Dr. Landy's office will also work with you to make these sophisticated dental procedures affordable for most everyone. Dr. Landy and his staff are the best. He has been in our Upper Northwest DC neighborhood for over 25 years and everyone I know that has seen him has loved his work and his professionalism.

Our family has had a wide variety of procedures done over the year from an unusual baby tooth extraction to fillings, crowns and planings. Dr. Landy has a comforting manner and is always very courteous and professional. His admin staff is top notch and we have never had a billing problem. Tried two other dentists for the kids that were closer to home and ended up taking them to this office instead.

I found Dr. Landy because he was a provider identified by my insurer (Delta Dental). Here was my experience with him: 1) the tech polished my teeth before cleaning them 2) after telling me I had zero co-pay for a routine cleaning, he did several unauthorized procedures (cancer screening, etc) and then tried to charge me over $100 for my "free" cleaning 3) he repaired my chipped from tooth and it fell off in 2-3 weeks 4) I went back to get a porcelain vaneer and had to bargain over price. this dude is like a used car salesman - he told me the regular price was like $1500 but I could have it for $300! no joke. i said fine and then he told me it would be made in a CA lab. About 2 weeks later (after it was supposed to have arrived), i was called to say that customs had confiscated my vaneer in Korea! no joke. he lied about where it was being made. 5) i came in for the next vaneer to be fitted and that turned out to be slightly the wrong color (he only had about 10 choices, like the cheap set of kids crayons...). that fell off in about 2-3 weeks 6) at the same time as original vaneer, i was fitted for a mouth guard. after bargaining on this one (50% off!), he told me it would last about 3-7 yrs. after 3 weeks, broken

Wonderful man! He really made sure the atmosphere was relaxing andprocedure was pain free. He is the best dentist I have ever gone to, and I would recommend him 50, 000 times. The cost was kept at its minimum, which met my low budget circumstances since I have no insurance.

About Hygienist: Simply excellent.

This was one of the worst experiences I have every had with a doctor. Their office seemed old and run-down. They made me wait over 45 minutes to see the doctor while constantly telling me that it would only be 5 more minutes for me to wait. I was only there to get a cleaning and a check-up, and the experience was terrible. Not only did they not actually clean my teeth, but they poked and prodded my gums so much that they started bleeding. Never have my gums bled before at a dentist office. Once Dr. Landy finally came in to see me, he also irritated my gums, and told me that I needed an expensive surgery for "receding gums", and that my insurance didn't cover it, but it was an absolutely necessary surgery and he would schedule it right away. I felt pressured and uncomfortable the entire time, and felt like they were just trying to make money on me. I went to another dentist and even a third for other opinions and they said I did not need any such surgery. Don't ever go to this dentist.

Dr. Landy insisted I purchase a mouth piece to prevent receding gums. The mouth peice cost $500. Then when my husband went to see him, he insisted he purchase a mouth piece to prevent TMG. Anyway, I had a cavity filled (porcelain inlay) and I had a lot of pain afterward. After two weeks of discomfort and a failed attempt to get a prompt appointment to see Dr. Landy, I went to anoter dentist, they found a part of the gauze they used during the procedure had not been removed. In addtion to mediocore work, the cost was very high. A year later, why I'm writing the review, my filling Dr. Landy did on my tooth came out while flossing. Just horrible.

He did 4 front/top veneers and ONE was (as another dentist told me afterwards) not one, but TWO shades lighter than the other three. This is unexplainable. When I called Landy, he brushed it off as normal.

Small, homey office. Seemed pleasant. I have had fillings, crowns and root canal. All seemed to go well. I had one crown that had to be redone. When I first started with him he did try to sell me a device to keep me from grinding my teeth at nite. I was not adequately convinced I needed it, so I did not take it. Chairside manner is adequate.' Seems to be expensive, but I am not sure what other dentists charge. Front desk staff abilities vary tremendously. I would recommend him to others because of location, but, caveot emptor. One has to pay attention to one's medical services.

I went in for a routine cleaning and Dr. Landy chipped my front tooth. I understand this can happen accidentally sometimes, but the worst part was that he didn't even tell me he had done it! I started walking out and realized it was chipped when I was on my out the door. He finally agreed to "squeeze me in" to fix it that day, which was important b/c I had a job interview the next day. The icing on the cake was that he sent me a bill for the repair! I refused to pay it and they dropped it. I haven't been back since.
