Dr. Dunny examined me, quoted me a price for the work I needed, completed the work and took my payment. Then, after I went home, informed me that the quoted price was incorrect and I needed to pay more. I refused and he turned what he claimed to be the balance due over to a collection agency within days. I can't say he is in business with the collection agency but if he was, he could probably make more money running this scam than he does in the dentistry business. Do your research. Don't pick a dentist based strictly on location.

This office put a crown on one of my teeth. Afterwards I had continual discomfort and constant issues w/ food being stuck. After asking them to correct the situation, they politely refused. I wouldn't recommend this office. The office hours seem to be somewhat inconveinent also.

When I first went to Dr. Dunny's office I was impressed with the high-tech facilities but that proved to be all. The front desk pushes all kinds of additional procedures (even though I had no gum disease or cavity problems). When they billed me, using my insurance, they overcharged me by some $120 and it took 2 phone calls from my insurance co. and several from me and my husband and a letter before they reluctantly fefunded the amount in two separate checks at two separate mailings. The bookkeeper would not take my calls and no one else in the office would discuss my over-billing with me. My daughter-in-law also left the office after her first visit as they charged her (and the insurance co.) for a cleaning, which they didn't do and pushed additional dental products until they could schedule an expensive gum procedure. Her subsequent dentist said it was not needed and a year later she is fine. I would never recommend them at all!

This practice, was very overpriced. After being examined for the first time, before doing a routine cleaning, there was over 2000 dollars of non covered work that needed to be done. I have been recieving dental care my entire life, and feel that I keep up quite well. I feel like I was not being charged honestly. Instead I felt like I was being sold services that I not only have never heard of, that I dont believe that I need.

Really great staff. All three doctors in this practice are wonderful! Slightly expensive but worth it! Very accomodating for appointments. Three hygienists so it's easy to make an appointment!

Dr. Dunny is the second Dentist I have tried in the San Diego area. I went to him after an initial filling from my first dentist was so painful that I was hoping for some pain relief and also to move to his office as a patient. From the first day I was there it was a disaster. After doing their initial patient review, they made many recommendations to me including remaining fillings I had left to do, stating that they would be done in amalgam (silver). My insurance, however, would not cover the cost of amalgam and so I asked that the fillings be done in resin, which was covered. They refused my request, saying that my only option was to put the silver in. After confirming with my insurance that I did have the right to request resin, I asked again for the fillings to be done in resin. Their response was a letter in the mail stating that I would no longer be accepted as a patient at their office. The lack of courtesy received from Dr. Dunnys office was hard enough to handle, but their refusal to honor the insurance coverage offered was the most alarming to me, and I ended up making a formal complaint to my insurance company.
