I went for an annual dental examination to Dr. Abbasian's office. The front office reception itself wasn't too bad, and the doctor reasonably pleasant, but the dental hygienist nearmost gave me a heart attack with the long list of procedures and treatments that were deemed 'necessary'. This, when I went for a routine check up, I wasn't even having any perceivable trouble with my teeth.
Most of the procedures were not covered by insurance, even though they were made to sound important and key for basic dental well being.
I went to another dentist for a second opinion where I was told all I needed was a good cleaning. Nothing else.

Would like to continue to use Dr. Abbasian, but their front office is not worth going there! It was called La Jolla Dental and then switched to Gentle Dental? We would get bills and one would have one name and one would have another. After paying lots of money for work, our file was sent to a collection agency for not paying. We thought we had paid everything, but they had gone over our coverage for the year, but never told us this! Found a new dentist and am very happy there! Dr. Gardner in Ocean Beach is great and so is his staff!

Overall work from the Dentist Dr. Mojdeh Abbasian was very good. However the staff, especially and including Office Manager is very rude to the customers and very unprofessional. Threat's made to turn in collection agency after very first day. After spending thousands on dental work? And worst even lied about contacting the office after hospital stay.
Had to leave before I lost temper. More then just very unprofessional.

I did not have a good experience with Dr Abbassian. She only partially filled one of my cavities. I also had a crown which although well done was too big compared to the tooth.
Also, I was always on time for my appointments. Yet she made me wait at least half an hour before seeing me. Add to it the fact that she worked on several patients at the same time. To make matters worse, while filling my cavities she embarked in endless conversations with her nurse aide. I had no desire to listen to them babbling while not being able to participate in their converstion.
I wil also add that the office manager was rude to me and did not appear to enjoy her job.

Dr. Abbasian is a very pleasant and personable dentist who cares for her patients' dental health. In my experience, she is very knowledgeable and effective in her work. The dentist filled several cavities for me and my new dentist (I switched because I moved out of the area) complimented Dr. Abbasian's work...the office staff leaves something to be desired.
