I first called Bob's office back in the eighties, first thing in the morning with a toothache. My dentist was out of town and a great local MD, Jack Wiegenstein, had recommended him. He had me go straight to his office and I was back at work in forty-five minutes (his office was a block away) after an efficient and painless root canal . Every visit since has been just as good. I only hope he's still practicing next time I make it to town.

Dr. Stark is great. He is wonderful at communicating. He tells exactly what is going to happen and doesn't sugar coat anything that ends up surprising you both when it comes to a procedure and cost.

Dr. Stark is excellent. He is very thorough, fast and reasonably priced. I chose him, after getting ripped off by a dentist who I felt did not do a good job. In fact, I was lucky enough to find Dr. Stark, who cured me of a painful tooth that my previous dentist had not adequately healed before putting a crown on it. The previous dentist did not do root canals, and just put a crown on my tooth without doing the root canal first. This caused a very dangerous infection. Dr. Stark took one look at my tooth, X-rayed and did the root canal and fixed the crown for an extremely reasonable cost. He is an older and former UW dentist, knows all the other dentists in the area and I believe, his no nonsense, calm, professional work is superb. I only wish and hope that he will stay in practice for many years to come. He also accepts insurance which my previous dentist did not. Yay Dr. Stark!!! His dental technicians (both the hygeinist and the assistant were also both very good, being both friendly, professional and answered all my questions and did their work very well. The office manager was also very professional, kind and polite. I can't say enough about how happy both my husband and I are with Dr. Stark. Highly recommended.

I went to Dr. Stark the first time over 25 years ago, because he was recommended especially for his ability to work with 'dental-phobic' patients. As a child, I had many teeth filled without novocaine and was very concerned about pain. He listened to my concerns, and the first time I had to have anesthetic, he did it in such a way that I didn't even notice at first [he kept the needle out of my sight and talked about something to distract me]. He gained my trust. I have been going to him ever since - mostly for twice-yearly teeth cleaning by his staff, as I have had few dental problems since he fixed some fillings early-on. He hires excellent dental hygenists [since I have been going there many years, I have probably seen 5 or 6 different hygenists - not many, as they stay with his practice for many years, several returning after maternity leave]. The office staff is very friendly, and very helpful about submitting insurance claims, and at least for me [a long-term patient] they accept what my insurance pays for routine care - there are no additional fees. The office itself does not have a lot of 'bells and whistles' [i.e. personal videos/headsets], but the equipment and facilities are professional, up-to-date, and clean.

Dr. Stark is a pro, he's in his fifties I'd guess and is an excellent dentist. I had bridges that included my front teeth - he proposed re-doing them (they didn't look that great) with one longer bridge. He did it and I've had it for about 4 years. People compliment my smile. By the way, I've seen a fair amount of dentists in my time so I'm a pretty good judge. Also he's very saavy, and has an easy manner with patients. Low key. He's got a good staff. And although he has plenty of patients, he makes himself available to a low cost insurance program that anyone can join (I forget the name of it now) even though he is reimbursed at a lower rate. I think he does it because he's a good guy. I highly recommend Dr. Stark.
