I must second what the previous reviewer said - Dr. Paxton is "Painless Paxton" (my husband used to call her that as a take off on an old Bob Hope movie in which he was a dentist named "Painless Potter". ) She has this technique for administering anesthetic which is as close to painless as can be. It involves her spending a little extra time, which I much appreciate. I have had x-rays, fillings, crowns, cleanings. It's a small office which gives you an old-time, comfortable feeling. All the staff are very friendly. They accept my insurance from work (Delta Dental) and handle the claim filing. Only negatives are I wish she was closer (I'm in North Hollywood and she's in Reseda/Tarzana) and that she'd be open on Fridays. As I said, I have been going to Dr. Paxton for quite a few years. I would go nowhere else except for things she doesn't do. She's a doll and I have recommended her to other people.

About Hygienist: The hygienist is very nice but doesn't have that same "painless" technique with the anesthetic. But while she is working, she is always checking to be sure there's no pain and she is gentle.

I know this doctor: 8-10 years

Dr. Paxton herself is spectauclar. Completely painless, completely effective, and very comforting and pleasant. The only negative is that she's so popular that it's often tough to get an appointment, particularly for cleanings. There's often a months-long back-up, so rescheduling in a pinch becomes a near-impossiblity.
