Have been a patient for many years. I have referred many new patients. Dr. Tani is excellent. He is fun, professional and backs all of his work. His chair side manner is the best I have ever experienced. He makes going to the dentist fun! His staff is equally talented and recently went under new management who are organized, timely and very efficient! Great Office
About Hygienist: The BEST! Again, the friendliest open door policy office EVER!

Dr. Tani is by far the most sensitive, understanding and gentle dentist I've ever had. I've moved around from city to city and state to state and have never come across a more efficient, knowledgable and thorough dentist.
He's a great listener and so efficient with your dental problems it will amaze you. I used to fear dentists. Now i go willingly and actually look forward to his work.
His staff is well trained and compliment his work wonderfully.
He is by far the best dentist I've ever had.

Unfortunately, I have had a negative experience with the front desk. Especially, the lady in charge of dealing with insurance is rude and accusatory.
Both of the crowns that I had seated came off. One broke, one I accidentally swallowed.

My review of Dr. Tani is that he is an OK dentist. Definitely not the best I've seen but just fine. The insurance part is efficient. What caused me to pull my family from his practice is the horrible customer service, particularly at the front desk. My major complaints:
1) You can't make your next appointment for 6 months out and there is always a different excuse when I ask why not.
2) Hard to get anyone to answer the phone or call you back when you leave a message.
3) Cancellation policy is standard, however the outgoing message directs you to call back so that you don't get charged the fee but NO ONE ANSWERS!
4) No appointment reminders via postcard or phone message. Doesn't every office do this now? Even my vet and my pharmacy calls to confirm.
About Hygienist: The hygemists here have been great. They are gentle and thorough.

I was first of all put off by the extremely small, overcrowded waiting room. And then I had to wait over 45 minutes. The front desk staff seemed to argue at length with customers over the phone, leaving the ones in person to wait long times for assistance. The examination cubbies were tiny, and completely low-tech. I was used to high tech at my previous dentist in Philadelphia. I was told I needed two deep cleanings and two crowns, quoted a price of almost $2000 after insurance. I went back for the first deep cleaning. The office had not improved, and I did not feel like they were interested so much in caring for me as they were in getting my money--their sales pitch was very high pressure.

Dr. Tani was very friendly and put me at ease, an accomplishment considering the horrible experience I had with my last dentist at SmileCare.

I really like Dr Tani. He makes you feel comfortable although sometimes a bit too jocular. He is good at what he does, however, and the prices are comparable to other dentists.

I was left VERY unsatisfied with the work that Dr. Tani provided and am now in the process of having most of the work that he did re-done. I got several crowns done at what used to be called California Smile and have come to find out that the quality of the work was MUCH below par. The dentist seemed very nice but then I realized that I had been billed incorrectly and it took me over six months of phonecalls and letters demanding repayment before my requests were granted. I would strongly urge people not to go to this dental office.

My cleaning was very thorough, but done mostly by the support staff. Only saw Dr. Tani for a few minutes, but he was very nice, funny, and didn't make me feel too bad about the fact that I was born with bad dental genes. quoted me for the whole package, seemed very expensive but it could be the likely price in this area. Am going back for follow up appointments and ZOOM whitening, will keep u posted....

Had to switch dentists due to insurance change. He was pretty good in comparison.
