If you want cheap dental work and teeth scraping for cleaning ala 1980 technology, this place is for you. But I highly suggest against this office. Although having several crowns replaced or added over the years, the last one was very poorly done and was the last straw for Dr. Katnik. Having gone in for tooth pain (#13), Dr. Katnik briefly glanced at the xrays, looked for a few seconds at the tooth next to the one hurting saying there was a food trap and the gums were infected. Dealt with the infection and replaced the crown on #14 which disturbed the bite and felt very uncomfortable. Changed HMO at work and went to a different dentist a month later who actually looked at my teeth, found #13 was cracked (as well as another), showed by camera image the poor quality of the crown on #14 and the need for work on #15. Having to pay more now - but getting professional dental care for a change.

I went to Dr Katnik office for a teeth cleaning and a check up. Duration of cleaning was 12 minutes, I feel cheated. X-rays were done by not professionaly looking careless employee will long hair, not a right look for a medical office employee. Images were taken unprofessionaly, x-ray machine was not stabilized properly. Doctor's check up was okay.

The hygenists are excellent, so get your teeth cleaned here, but DO NOT get any dental procedures done. I have had to get the same crown re-done 2 times because the quality of the crowns is so poor. Now that I switched dentists I had to get a root canal b/c the fit of the crown they "fixed" was horrible. I even complained about the fit to Dr Katnik, and was told it was "a piece of porcelain sticking out" and not to worry. In fact it was the crown sticking out so far from the tooth it was allowing bacteria to pool in it, hence the needed root canal. Run as far as you can from these so called dentists! I now see Dr. Taylor who is top rated on this website, down the street from Dr Katnik.
About Hygienist: Awesome!! Don't get any dental procedures done except for cleanings from Dr. Katnik's office!

I would not recomment him. His treatment is always crowns. Mine didn't fit and had to be redone. It fell out while I was on vacation and had to be glued back in for $100 in the BAy area and was such a bad fit the dentist said it shoud be redone. Katnik tried to remove it and couldn't but chipped off half the crown trying. Wanted me to pay in full for new crown When I complained he knocked off $150. The tooth was a good tooth which had a food trap and he tried for 3 years to talk me into a crown, He finally said it had a cavity and needed a crown. I didn't realize it was the same tooth until after it was done.

Dr. K will say less than 10 words to you on your visit. If there is something wrong with your teeth he will tell his assistant and his assistant will explain to your what is wrong. Why can't Dr. K explain it to me?
He will not tell you what he is doing to your teeth. So beware!
About Hygienist: The hygienist will clean your teeth way too fast. And it hurts too!

Various procedures: fillings, extractions, root canals, x-rays, usual maintenance. Treatment usually successful, although I had a crown come out once. Mostly pain-free. Cost moderately high for me (no insurance). Dentists and office staff kind of distant, not too personable. I wouldn't particularly recommend this Dental office.

Absolutely horrible. I've never had a cavity or needed much dental care so I was only getting my teeth cleaned here for a long time until he recommended that I replace the crowns on my front teeth, crowns I had had for 17 years. Two years later I'm with a new dentist and having to have them replaced again. The dentist I have now was shoked by what a poor job that was done before. They look bad and my gums have been swollen and bleeding ever since Dr. Katnik replaced the crowns. The ladies that clean your teeth are nice but that is about the only thing good I have to say about my experience in this office.

I had some bleeding from between teeth in rear left upper quadrant. This was strange because I floss every day which should prevent bleeding from gums.
I visited the office. A tiny piece of debris was found. Xrays showed there was a "food trap". Surgery was required and was done right then.
Dr. Katnik is a great professional.
