She doesn't care. After the cleaning appointment she didn't even check my daughter's teeth. She is very inpatient. Doesn't spend any time with the patient. Very unhappy. Thinking of finding a new dentist for my child. She has not done a good job. After 6 months the filling went bad and she tells me that I didn't floss the teeth well. Afwul

About Front Desk: The front desk is very nice and friendly. No complains.

I have been going to this dentist for about 6 years now, and I very rarely have encountered any issues. I think once maybe I waited an extra 15 minutes in the waiting room because another patient was running late before me. I usually go for teeth cleanings and for work if I have cavities. I am usually seen by Dr. Freedman, but I have been also seen by Dr. McIlveen. Both are very professional and similar to other dentist personalities that I've had growing up. When I'm in the waiting room I see official awards for this business, so things must be going well for this business despite a couple of the reviews I saw that seemed like people were a bit frustrated. Like I said, a majority of my experiences were fine.

About Front Desk: The front desk seems a bit hectic on various occasions. They took care of my paperwork and stuff, but I don't really pay attention to that area when I'm waiting to be seen. Usually I watch TV or read magazines. They call to remind me of my appointments and are pretty flexible the few times I had to rebook. This office seems popular because sometimes I have to wait a week or two to be seen if I reschedule. When I go there they are usually pretty busy with patients and kids coming in and out.

Staff are nice. Facility is clean. Easy to get appointment. But I am not very sure they are good at diagnose dental problems.

I was referred to Dr. McIlveen by another pediatric dentist because the office has a visiting anethesialogist. My one year old had cavities in his top two front teeth. At the consultation Dr. Mcllveen stated that the only option was to put crowns on the teeth. They went over the procedure/cost /follow up etc. We had the work done. The cost of the work was not accurate with the initial estimate but other than that things seemed fine. Then a crown fell off. Then it fell off again. From that point forward things changed. My son's records were tampered with/destroyed, his mouth is infected and his teeth need to be removed. The office is rude to the point of abusive. As soon as a problem occured they wanted no part of us. She does not stand behind her work/take responsibility for it. We are now consulting with an attorney about malpractice. Mcilveen is cold as ice to children and dismissive and rude to parents. She has a lot of plaques from Washingtonian stating she is a top dentist but I have never seen worse. There are many other pediatric dentists in this area. I would avoid this dentist.

We have had wonderful experiences with Dr. Mac. The office staff is very nice and I and the kids can get cleanings at the same time...bonus! Tooth extractions haven't been the best and there have been times when cotton tubes have mistakenly been left in the kid's mouth, but overall a good experience.

We were not pleased with the lack of customer service. The time spent in the waiting area was extremely long each time we went. Dr. McIlveen was very short with us and seemed to lack patience for any questions - and I thought WE were paying for a service! The only thing that makes this office a pediatric one is are the TVs and colorful decor. The dentist and staff do not seem to work well with children.

We felt that we did not get any time individually with the dentist. After the cleaning, she checked our child's teeth very quickly and then left without telling us directly about any cavities - although she told them to the hygenist. The hygenists are nice. If I use a pediatric dentist though I would prefer it be someone who takes the time to make our child feel welcome and safe rather than rushed. Our child was excited for her first visit to the dentist but unfortunately left scared of the dentist. The dentist did seem to get too frustrated when our daughter opened her mouth wide but couldn't open it as wide as the dentist wanted.
