I never go any place else. Took family and friends, we are very happy with his work.
About Front Desk: I had a problem with the front desk but he handled it.

multiple extractions and routine care. He was attentive and caring
and was perfectly in relation with all of my responses concerning
my teeth sensitivity and being careful to know exactly what to ask
and when my tooth nerve sensitivity reaction, etc, etc, etc.
Icannot say enough about this Doctor. Hwas so nice so well put
together in EVERY category. Ifelt as though he had done my teeth
a thousand times although this was my first visit.
I could write all day about the shining example of a dentist this guy is.
About Front Desk: They (staff)were so relational and well informed. They also are an excellent accompaniment to Dr.Rutland and his service. they superbly work together.

Horrible Experience. Was told he was a good dentist and was African American. I have a good job with good insurance. First of all, he was not friendly at all. I explained that I wanted prettier teeth. He rudely said that it was nothing he could do...said I needed braces...made me feel like I had the worst teeth. He didnt take xrays, nor examined my mouth, check for pain or cavities, etc. I was mortified! I work with the public and I would not have gotten hired if my teeth were ugly. I have never heard that my teeth were unattractive. Anyway, he never said that I should come back for a thorough exam, never said goodbye or thanks for coming. I have never gotten treated like this before from a doctor. African American to another African American.....wowww!!! I WILL NEVER COME BACK NOR RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!!

The place is too dark. All other dentist offices I have been to over the years have had a bright look of cleanliness as any medical facility should. The reception room looks comforting but where the procedure actually takes place is a different story. I also want to see the tools laid out and displayed instead of just pulling things out of no where and putting them in my mouth. I want to know they are clean and have not been already used. Makes me think of that young 22 year old woman that contracted AIDS years ago from her dentist office. That scares me. Its just too dark in their patient area and doesn't look sterile. My co-workers seem to go to this office all the time but many of them are use to not requiring or asking for much. Staff is nice though but that's not what i go there for. They also have good early hours. I haven't been there for several months now but I'm not sure I can ever go back. When I think medical facility and a place where blood secretions can be anywhere, I need to see white all around me. Burgundy walls make it too easy to hide dried blood stains. : (
About Hygienist: I would at least like to have the dentist look at my teeth and make an evaluation before or even after the hygienist cleans my teeth.

I have referred many friends and my husband to Dr. Rutland. He works well with your insurance, facility was renovated to state of the art. He is the first dentist who provides pain free care. He stays clinically up to date, attends conferences.

Dr. Rutland has excellent bedside manner. He make you confortable and relax. when you leave his office there is little to no pain.
