Dr. Fiss is originally from New York, but has made Chicago his home since 1974. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland. Dr. Fiss graduated from Northwestern University Dental School and has been in practice since 1978. Dr. Fiss began with a small office on Oak Street and has moved into a larger, modern facility in the heart of the Gold Coast on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. His staff of hand-picked professionals is part of what sets his office apart. Along with advanced training in their fields, Dr. Fiss' hygienists, assistants, office manager and administrative assistant are constantly trained with rigorous continuing education classes and specialty seminars. A veneer is a thin porcelain covering placed over the facing of a tooth to enhance its color and shape. When veneers are placed on adjacent teeth, crowding and malalignment can be corrected or erased. Because porcelain veneers are carefully sculpted and shaped, many people feel they have gone through instant orthodontics. Porcelian Veneers have a longevity of at least ten to 15 years due to the strength of the porcelain and the extreme thinness of the cement. To achieve the best depth of color translucency and iridescence, the structure of the teeth to be veneered must be reduced both facially and in length approximately half a millimeter. Veneers should wrap around the chewing edge and go interproximally between teeth to create life-like translucency and contour. If patients are interested in bleaching or tooth whitening, this should be achieved prior to veneering, as restorations will not whiten.

I have not been to the dentist in years. I was in pain and Dr. Fiss was the only dentist willing to see me on a short notice. The staff and Dr. Fiss were welcoming and thorough. I am thrilled to have found a dentist that is caring and patient. The staff made my anxiety bearable. My initial visit was for an emergency and I have found my primary dentist provider.
Dr. Fiss is the best in his field. I’ve had, filings, veneers, crowns and great checkups over the past 25 years. I would recommend Dr. Fiss to anyone who wants an amazing smile. I’ve had other dentists but no one comes remotely close to the care and quality of work that Dr Fiss brings to his patients. This level of quality emanates from him to all of his staff. His hygienists are on top of their game – they are thorough, meticulous, smart and friendly.(I’m talking to you Shelley!). You are greeted and sent on your way, until the next appointment, by the friendliest of staff, Suzanne and Jodi. Dr. Fiss is the dentist truly puts his patients first. And that puts him first in my book.

Myself and my family have been known Dr Fiss for over 20 years and my family of 6 have been going to him for that amount of time . Dr Fiss has always given us the best treatment!! The most important is that he TRULY CARES!! And is always there when you are in need of a dentist or anything pertaining to your teeth he will recommend what and where to go and make arrangements for you. I was recommended to this practice from a family member and immediately recognized that Dr. Fiss and his team are truly exceptional.
First, the positivity, expertise, and professionalism is astounding.
The administrative team is extremely diligent about reminding patients of upcoming appointments and maintaining a consistent (but very flexible) 6 month check-up cadence.
Furthermore, Dr. Fiss's practice shows remarkable competence in handling all insurance related activities - which is a breath of fresh air to know you are in good hands. Jodi specifically makes sure none of her patients ever have to deal with insurance related headaches.
Overall, this dental practice met all expectations upon my first visit and has continued to exceed those expectations with each subsequent visit. I will continue to go see Dr. Fiss and the rest of the team for as long as I am in Illinois (and maybe even further!)
