Dr. Byun is amazing. I used to fear and dread going to the dentist, but Dr. Byun has completely changed that. After having a bridge, a crown, and numerous cavity fillings done by Dr. Byun, I highly recommend him to anyone that is searching for their next dentist!! He is patient and gentle, and most importantly he cares about his patients and makes sure every visit is painless and efficient! Dr. Byun is conveninet located at the Rincon center, which is perfect for anyone with a busy work schedule in the financial district!!

He's the best, the whole office is a joy. You never have to wait. In and out on time and that is important during a busy work day. I hadn't been to the dentist in many years after a bad experience and procrastination. I was so relieved to get back on track and that was no doubt to Dr. Byun's professionalism and easy going nature.

Dr. Byun and the entire team have always been pleasant to visit. I've never had a bad experience and all of my concerns or requests are addressed.

The location is ideal if you work in the financial district. The facilities are clean and you can see/feel the thoughtful approach that they've taken to ensure the patient's comfort during visits (i.e. massage chairs, t.v.'s).

If you're looking for a knowledgable, professional, warm dental group with better than reasonable prices, check out Dr. Byun's practice. I've referred him to work colleagues who have become disgruntled with their dentists (often someone they've been with for years) over quality of the facilities, equipment, procedures, expertise and price.

I'm definitely not an advertisement but I like this DDS and team quite a bit!

I had a very good experience at Dr. Byun's office. I was overdue for a visit and a co-worked reccommended Dr. Byun. The staff is extremely friend and professional. I was greeted with a smile and everyone was very calm. I tend to get very anxious about dentist appointments and it really was helpful that every step of the appointment was explained to me so that I always knew what was coming next.

Dr. Byun filled three cavities for me. The process was relatively quick and painless. I would give Dr. Byun my highest recommendation.

Frances at the Front Desk and Carmen one of the Dental Hygenists are GREAT! They are friendly and accomodating.

Dr. Byun demonstrates concern for his patients. He referred me to a specialist and after my visit with the specialist, Dr. Byum called me at home to see how I was doing.

He is thorough and always keeps the entire dental process in mind. He helped me plan out all of the work that I want done in a way that is manageble for both my scehdule and my bank account.

Efficient and Professional. Dentist was really nice as well as the staff.

I came in for cleaning and a check up. After the first appointment when I had my cleaning done and xrays taken I went in for the second visit to fill one cavity I had. I have a thing about needles so I asked that he not give me a shot. He was a bit reluctant at first but went ahead anyway. It was over in less then 10 minutes and it was painless. I would use Dr. Byun again. He seemed very knowledgeable and confident.

I've been a patient at Rincon Dental for about 10 years and started seeing Steve Byun a few years ago when he came into the practice. He is very complete with his exams and takes time to chat which is a plus. Steve did some great work on two veneers in the front of my mouth - excellent results.

Unlike a lot of other doctor/dentists I've been to, Dr. Byun takes the time to explain everything involved in your procedure before doing so. Really fast, professional, courteous service, and the rest of his staff is super nice and extremely competent as well.

Also, it doesn't hurt that he's in a great location if you work downtown in SF - literally a block away from my office.

I am the type of person who is NOT impressed with "bells, whistles, and fluff". Dr. Byun makes a great effort to provide a little fluff and comfort. However, what really impresses me about Dr. Byun is his knowledge, expertise, and professionalism. If there is a problem or pain, he and his staff fix the problem. I have no problems with my teeth, thanks to Dr. Byun and his staff. Their preventative efforts are the best. They prevent problems before they happen. They make me feel good from start to finish! The prices are very competitive as well.

I'm new to the area and chose Dr. Byun because of all of the excellent reviews he has on this site. My choice was not mistaken. Dr. Byung is an excellent dentist: clean, professional and trustworthy. During my treatment I eased into the massage chair and closed my eyes while he worked. I felt comfortable and relaxed -- concepts not often associated with the experience of having drills in your mouth -- the entire time. I left the office smiling.

Parking tip: The parking at the Rincon Center is outrageously expensive; park instead in one of the metered spaces on the Embarcadero.

Excellent service. Francis the receptionist and scheduler is very helpful, and the rest of the staff is very professional as well. They have TVs and chair massagers in all the rooms and seem to make an extra effort to make sure you are comfortable. I received treatment and needed a follow up appointment, and they got me back in right away and took care of the problem. Highly recommended.

As a child, I was systematically tortured by my dentist. He was the type that used a jackhammer to test for cavities. Strangely enough, I shied away from dentists as a result - it became a downward spiral. Small animals started living in my mouth...

During my adult years, I've had a few dentists who were OK - the science is definitely improving. And then, after several years in the UK (not as bad on the dental front as commonly believed), I returned to SF and looked for a dentist downtown. Rincon Dental seemed like an OK place...but what level of torture would THEY employ?

The good news is - these people are sooooo comforting. Treat me like a friend, not an annuity. Yes, we should all floss more, and for the first time, I want to floss, if only to show these people that what they say matters. I want them to be MY friends.

These people really get it - they know how traumatized some people might be, and yet, after a few visits, you WILL NOT BE. You have my word.

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Byun and his practice. Dr. Byun is extremely skilled and thorough, is always friendly and considerate and does his utmost to understand what I, as the patient, want rather than making assumptions. He helps the patient make decisions on treatment options based on all factors, from expected outcome to out-of-pocket cost. His work on a front crown of mine is outstanding. He calls to check up a day or two after certain treatments to make sure the patient is comfortable. I've had to move around a lot for school and work and I've never had a dentist that made me feel this much at ease.

The front desk staff and hygienists are also very good at what they do. They are incredibly helpful and make the patient feel comfortable during the entire visit, walking the patient through billing issues and answering any questions about billing or procedures.

The facilities are comfortable, with television, music and optional massage pads on the chairs.

Although the costs are a tad higher than average (meaning I pay a bit more out-of-pocket), the level of treatment and care is more than worth it in this case.

The staff are all friendly and helpful, flexible and understanding. Dr. Byun is quick and efficient, but also warm and willing to answer questions if you have any. Dr. Byun took great care to replace my front tooth implant crown. He explained every step in achieving a great result. Dr. Byun worked efficiently: it took less than a month from the time of the impression until the final adjustment to the crown. I am extremely pleased with the result and it was all painless!

Dr. Byun is friendly, personable, professional and very well informed of the latest dental technology and treatment. He has always had very sound advice and terrific attitude. The staff is phenomenal as are the facilities. The opportunity to watch and episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" -- one of my favorite shows -- during my most recent visit was a pleasant and upside surprise. I have recommended Dr. Byun to friends and colleagues and they too have been thrilled with his abilities and treatment. The routine care is excellent, great follow-up from the staff. I also had some minor orthodontia done by Dr. Byun, and am so happy with the results!

I found Dr. Byuen using the Dr. Oogle site based on his prior high-rated patient reviews. I must say, the friendliness of the staff along with all the steps they took to make sure I was comfortable, was above par. Dr. Byuen himself, was very confident and did a beautiful job with my crown. And the hygienist gave me the gentlest cleaning I've ever experienced.

I have already referred by best friend there, and my husband will be a new patient in January. If you are seeking a knowledgable dentist, close to public transportation, look no further than Dr. Byuen.

Hadn't been to the dentist in a while and was anxious about what Dr. Byun would find. I definitely need some stuff but I was relieved/impressed with how he explained everything to me and broke down how we should go about it. I found Dr. Byun's practice after having concern that my previous dentist was being less than honest about my dental prognosis. During my search to locate a new dentist I spoke with many friends and a few different doctors in the downtown area of San Francisco. Dr. Byun was highly recommended and I felt comfortable with my decision after speaking with him directly- he is sincere, open, and friendly.

Since my decision I've had several visits to Dr. Byun's office; ranging from general checkups and cleanings, to fixing a crown from my previous dentist. Each visit has been great! Dr. Byun and his staff are very gentle, courteous, and caring. I'm pleased with Dr. Byun and recommend him on a regular basis.

After a long, tumultuous relationship with my front tooth we decided to part ways. The best replacement solution was clearly an implant and crown. The only down side to this was the time it took from beginning to end (an infection had to be tamed first). It looks so good you can't even tell it's a fake.

I was also lucky in that my insurance actually paid for some of it-I was told that this is somewhat rare. Everyone from Dr. Steve to the staff were terrific in handling everything; they made sure that all issues were clear BEFORE we started.

I had a root canal done 3 years ago but I never got the crown put on like I was supposed to and I ended up cracking the tooth!! :-( My old dentist wanted to do a bridge but I went in to see Dr. Byun and we decided to do an implant. SO GLAD I DID!! The teeth on either side were perfect before so it's nice that they're still perfect now. I had to pay more out of pocket but I honestly think it is worh it. Not too much pain either. Dr. Byun and staff did a great job taking care of me and also made sure I understood what was happening. Thumbs up!

Dr. Byun is a cheerful, attentive, and bright dentist who cares about all his patients. I have seen him patiently listening and delicately responding to other patients and know that he always does this with me. He always has the latest technology in his office and he makes sure his patients are comfortable by offering them massage chairs to sit in and a movie to watch (a TV is strategically placed at an angle above the chair for perfect viewing) while getting their teeth cleaned. He is my favorite Dentist I have ever been to!

I lost a tooth recently (it cracked for some weird reason) and discussed options w/ Dr. Byun. Even though it cost a bit more than a bridge, the implant was totally worth it. My other teeth didn't have to be drilled on and it was pretty painless and simple. It did take a while for the surgery to heal though. I definitely recommend an implant over a bridge.

I've never been particularly fond of dentist visits and had not been to the dentist for many years before seeing Dr. Byun. His pleasant, comforting, and engaging style has a way of taking the stress out of a dental appointment.

And he does great work as well! I've lived with a couple of annoying blemmishes (decalcification) on 2 of my front teeth for years. Dr. Byun clearly laid out a plan and the expected results and delivered exactly as promised. I'm pretty stoked on the results and I have even been returning every 6 months for regular checkups! Highly recommend.

I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and was referred to Dr. Byun. I knew a couple of my back teeth needed work but I decided to ask him what could be done about my front teeth also. I've never like my front teeth but just never bothered to do anything about them. But am I glad I asked! After all these years I can finally smile without being embarassed. My new teeth not only look great but they also feel much better. Dr. Byun was great through it all also, I recommend him highly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Byun's for a while and recently had him do some veneers for me. I can't say how happy I am I finally got them done. I smile a lot more now and I don't feel so self conscious. What really impressed me about the whole thing was how Dr. Byun went about it. We had discussed me wanting veneers in the past but I just couldn't afford them. He gave me some options for payment but after that he left me alone to decide without any pressure. Once I was finally able to afford them we went over together what I wanted. This was really helpful because he educated me about why my smile looked the way it does and also what the realistic outcome would be. It took two visits but there really wasn't any pain and they really kept me comfortable. Well worth everything!!

Steve is the most caring and pleasant dentist I have ever been to. As soon as you walk into the Rincon Dental office you feel at ease. He is very informative as far as telling you what is needed, what he would like to do, and how it is going to happen. I was able to get all the work done that I needed in a very timely manner with no hiccups along the way. He is also right on the next day with a follow up call. It is just like having one of your close friends as your dentist.
