Patient Review 1:

Dr. Berkovich has done both cosmetic and preventative surgery on my gums and jaws with great results. She's very gentle and (even more rare) she makes an incredible effort to understand her patients' needs, goals, and limitations. If you communicate with her, she will listen to you. For one of my cosmetic procedures she volunteered to do follow-up surgery without charge to adjust the result to my satisfaction. I also like the fact that she recommends herbal and homeopathic remedies to address post-surgery swelling and bruising (and they do work if you follow her recommendations). I have moved away from SF but will seriously consider traveling back to see Dr. Bercovich if I have a need for periodontal surgery in the future.

I was extremely nervous about the implant procedure and I can not tell you what a total breeze it was. Dr. Berkovich put me completely at ease and with only a few painless shots of anesthesia the procedure was done before I knew it. There was a lovely room with music and a massage chair to recover. I sat there for about 20 minutes, took one Advil and drove home completely fine. Dr. Berkovich is like a periodontal magician--she can perform these procedures without pain--she even pulled down a little receding gum in the next tooth as a little bonus. She is by far the best and extremely professional. I traveled a bit far to get to her, but it was well worth it!

I lost two front incisors when I was a kid and, as a result, wore partial dentures for over 20 years. The partial dentures looked fine, but I had some trouble eating and was self-conscious when s.o. wanted to take photos (esp. with the sharp resolution of digital cameras). Periodically, I would go to an implant specialist for a consultation. I saw at least 5 specialists before meeting Dr. B, but I never went ahead with the implant procedure because I was worried about how I would look during the year or more that it would take for the bone graft and implant post to take. Upon meeting Dr. B, I had immediate confidence that she would help me with these issues. When you meet her, you'll see! She's a very stylish and attractive woman. I had more faith in her aesthetic sense than in my own. Dr. B is also smart, kind, caring, and knowledgeable; she radiates confidence. Dr. B worked with Dr. Albert Kadosh, who is similarly wonderful, to give me a gorgeous smile. Dr. B's handiwork was excellent, and she arranged that I had proper temporary dentures to wear until the entire procedure was completed. It's been more than 6 months since I finished. None of my friends or coworkers even suspected. Thanks, Dr. B!

Dr. Berkovich is terrific. She did my dental implants, gum grafts, the whole treatment, and it has worked out beautifully. I continue to see her twice a year for cleanings and her touch is so gentle that I don't even need anesthesia, but her cleanings are thorough. The whole office is so well run and beautiful. Her massage chair to recuperate after procedures is wonderful! Dr. Berkovich really thinks about what is best for her patients and provides it. I highly recommend her.

Dr. B is a perfectionist, patient, gentle, maticulous. I had gum grafts, bone grafts, implants. w/more to go. I wouldn't have anyone else but her handle this. She also fights the ins. co. Her office is impeccable and up-to-date as well. I want to hug her everytime I see her for what she has done for me. If all docs treated us as successfully and as carefully as Dr. B, we would all look forward to the visit.

I had two procedures in the same day - removal of a growth on my gum, and gum graft. There was no pain during the proceudres, and afterwards there was only minor discomfort.

Two days after the procedure I woke up at 6:30 a.m. and was concerned about the surgical area and called Dr. Berkovich. She returned my call within 10 minutes and assured me it was part of the healing process.

I am the biggest "baby" when it comes to any dental work, and Dr. Berkovich is the best - she explains the problem and procedure, the work is painless; the results are fantastic, painless, and she treats you with respect.

I highly recommend her.

Dr. Berkovich did gum grafts for 6 of my teeth over the course of two years (2005-06). She made the experience about as positive as I could imagine it. She previewed the process thoroughly, taking the time to educate me about all aspects of the procedures. Her information and professionalism were impressive and very reassuring. The experience itself was made as quick and comfortable as it could be. Her process was efficient and well-executed. She made sure that the experience was as painless as possible, and that I was ok during the entire procedure. the results were spectacularly successful. I was referred to Dr. Carrie Berkovich by Dr. Rebecca Castaneda to raise/enhance my gum line and to reduce/shave the bone under my gums before Dr. Castaneda would replace my 19 year old porcelain veneers. After the initial consultation, it will become very apparent that both doctors strive and do achieve the best results for each patient. Before this, I have had only one novacaine injection. I have never had any fillings,bridges etc.(fluoride generation). I am a 41 year old male. Fear of pain and unknown procedures are huge obstacles for me. I am the biggest baby when it comes to pain. All of my questions and obsessive concerns were addressed prior to the procedure by Dr. Berkovich and her staff. The day of my procedure I was greeted with reassuring smiles and the procedure was performed with caring confidence. Carrie is the best dental professional I've ever seen. She made time to see me for an emergency broken tooth, planned the surgery, and got the job done ASAP and with a smile.

Carrie is friendly, optimistic, and explained everything that I wanted to know. She also did a bone graft for the tooth at the same time and it went smoothly as well.

Her website has a lot of useful information about her practice and the dental techniques. If you're looking for a better smile, I highly recommend her.

This was my second (or third?) gum graft surgery from Dr. Berkovich. The office is extremely comfortable, pleasant and efficient. The doctor makes sure you know everything that is going to happen and what to expect. Pain was never an issue. The office was very prompt in processing insurance claims.

Doctor Berkovich did an extraction of a infected molar and a bone graft on 2 teeth. 5 months later she put in 2 dental implants. Both procedures were a success and done with great expertise, she fully explained both procedures, and kept me comfortable during the surgeries. The office is modern, very nice, extremely clean. There is also a room to relax in while you are waiting, with a messaging chair, and XM radio. The staff, is helpful and friendly. The price for both procedures is average from the research I did. I highly recommend her!

After five careful consultations with leading cosmetic dentists in San Francisco, I was referred to Carrie Berkovich regarding a dental implant.

As a result of a broken tooth (one of my front teeth) I needed an implant. I was very concerned that the implant would result in visible scarring and had high expectations.

From the initial consultation to the final post surgery follow up visit my experience with Carrie Berkovich exceeded my expectations.

She kept me informed thruout the entire process (before, during and after) so there would be no surprises.

It was a difficult surgery. The tooth needed to be removed in pieces due to fractured bone segments under the gum line.

Without any pain medication and with local anesthesia only, the entire procedure was painless. The tooth was removed and the implant was placed without incisions. The gum line was not jeopardized.

Her chairside manner was pleasant and professional and I would feel confident in making a recommendation to anyone considering an implant or plastic surgery of the mouth.

Dr. Berkovich's service, manner, explanations, and staff are professional and impeccable. From the initial consultation to the follow-up, she provided concise explanations of the procedure and what to expect from my gum grafting surgery.

She also provided printed instructions as to how to care for the surgery, a pager number, guaze and disposable ice pack.

I would highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking gum grafting surgery. I am very pleased with the results! She also provides laser services if any resurfacing/reshaping is necessary, which is less invasive that other corrective procedures (if needed) and not offered by all periodontists.

After the procedure, Dr. Berkovich has patients relax in a relaxation room with music, a fountain and massage chair, a perk that I have never experienced at any other office-a nice touch after any procedure.

Her services are truly top-notch!!

It's all been said in the other reviews, so I'll just add quickly that my implant surgery experience (including the initial consultation, the treatment options decision phase, the extraction and implant surgery, and all the post-op visits and discussions) was absolutely first-rate. In 2004, my general care dentist at the time recommended Dr. Berkovich. She had done work on him and his family. I had long put off getting work done on my receding gums. One dentist I had had recommended I get veneers instead. I am certainly glad I went with the decision to have gum surgery. The alternative would have made me have the smile of a German Shepherd.

During my consultation session with Berkovich, she explained the procedure, as well as the benefits of having it done. All my questions were answered. At no time did she push me into making a decision.

A month later I had the procedure done. During which she explained what she was doing, and otherwise put me at ease. A few days later I had a concern. When she was able to, she called me back and eased my mind.

This year, I had another section of gum tended to. In addition, she willingly adjusted the previous work to more of my liking. I could not thank her enough for all the results.

I have no complaints about Dr. Berkovich. Which I have found is rare with a dental professional. She has an excellent chair-side manner. I found that she let me be involved in all the decisions to be made. Depending on your insurance, she is well worth the price.

Absolutely exceptional, impeccable overall experience, perfect results - but quite a few reviewers already wrote about top-notch professionalism and bedside manners above reproach.

What I would like to add: in my case Dr. Berkovich had to fight a long and hard uphill battle with my insurance company. She did it on my behalf for many months after treatment was finished and I paid for it.

And she won that battle for me, and recovered for me 70% of the cost of the dental implant treatment!

That's how Dr. Berkovich and her office care about their patients, and it goes way beyond "call of duty".

From my initial phone call inquiry all the way through my post-op appointment, my whole experience with Dr. Berkovich and staff was consistently 4++ star satisfaction. After consulting with 5 different dentists, I decisively chose Dr. Berkovich based on her least invasive solutions and realistic outcome approach. She is very concise and meticulous with her work and they all show on the results -- my gums are now very healthy and pink and she managed to show off all my healthy white teeth underneath my residing gums. Dr. Berkovich staffs are well trained and knowledgeable. I found Dr. Berkovich by luck online and am so glad I did! She was very gentle and meticulous and took time to ask about any questions I had. She told me everything she was about to do (which is important to me, being a healthcare professional myself). And the results were fantastic. The price was an ENORMOUS deal lower than other quotes I had received for what I needed performed.....there was even a free initial consultation! When I first met Dr. B, three years ago, I had severe periodontal problems, fear and little knowledge of how to resolve my problems. I immediately felt comfort in her professional chair side manner along with her impeccable skills and abilities. It was quite an involved process to resolve all of my periodontal issues, but today I am happy to report those issues are behind me and I am half way through the restorative processes following my periodontal work. I had thought about the possibility for implants for years. I took the leap after one consultation with Dr. Carrie (I felt an intuitive confidence in her) and had six implants in one morning. Dr. Carrie was extremely professional, proficient and conscientous that it be a painless procedure, and it was! In the office at 9:00 and out by noon! She consulted and coordinated closely with the dentist designing and ultimately installing my implant prosthesis, Lewis Specker (also a top flight professional).

I am three months into my healing (grafting into the bone) period and I have had no complications, pain other than the soreness of healing and fully anticipate a much better quality of life and self esteem when completed.

Dr. Carrie is a delightful person, her offices are state of the art and well worthy of your trust and confidence! Her office manager proactively takes care of the business arrangements on your behalf.

I have been going to Dr. Berkovich for almost 2 years and respect her for the skill and sensitivity she brings to each of my visits. In my opinion, what makes Dr. Berkovich different in the large masses of dentists that are waiting for us all is her genuine enthusiastic manner in which she performs her job. She goes the extra distance to achieve the best results, no matter what it takes. She does this because she really enjoys what she does and in turn makes the patient feel very satified with the results. Price is very fair for the exceptional skill and CARE that she takes to do the absolute best she can for your teeth. She is very sensitive to the pain that my procedure could include and is routinely asking about my comfort level. She cares before, during and after you leave the chair. I went to Dr. Berkovich after I saw this site. She is really as good as described here. I was there for a consultation and she was extremely helpful. She gave me a lot of advice not just related to periodontal work, but important things that I need to think about. She was concerned about me in general and give me advice that's from the heart. She told me stuff that I didn't even realize, things that either my own dentist/orthodontist didn't even bother to tell me. This is my first (and hopefully last) try of ortho, so I'm extremely nervous. All of my dentists have advised me to do get ortho and Dr. Berkovich advise the same to me but she explained to me the reasons why. She's extremely professional and helpful. She did a lot for me even though I was only there for a consultation and in the mean time, did not need any periodontal work. :) Thanks Dr. Berkovich for taking your precious time and truely helping me as if I was already your patient! I totally recommend anyone looking for a periodontist to go see her. She's the best!

Dr. Berkovich is the periodontist to go to! Her technique, demeanor, and care is fabulous. She has a gentle touch and makes you feel very comfortable. I have had MANY dentists, periodontists, and endodontists work on my teeth over the last fifteen years (due to an accident that shattered my maxilla bone and knocked out my front four teeth) and Dr. Berkovich is easily one of if not the best. Although I was impressed with her willingness to take time with me to explain the procedures I would undergo, I was even more impressed with the quality of her work. To my surprise it was painless, and (knock on wood) a complete success. Additionally, her assistant is excellent with insurance and a consummate professional. I could not be happier.

Dr. B. is the best! I recently had a gum procedure and some bone removal perfomed and I honestly couldn't be happier with the results. Even though I was referred and she was told 'what needed to be done', she really cared about how I FELT and what I WANTED...that is probably what I appreciated most, not to mention her absolute professionalism and incredibly personable manner. She was attentive, thorough, and most concerned about me. The pain and recovery was less and quicker than I had imagined. In just a week I felt and looked quite well. Dr. Berkovich took out my wisdom tooth. She was very courteous and gentle. The anastetic shot was not painful at all and the whole procedure took only 15 minutes. Moreover, she talked me through the whole ordeal, so that I hardly noticed when my tooth was out on her tray. She has a great view of downtown SF and the Bay out of her office window! Highly recommend for professional high quality dental services.

Doctor Berkovich despite her young age is very skillful, highly professional specialist and charming woman with anaesthetic influence over her patients.

She performed for me a periodontal surgery on the upper jaw with good results although I had a neglected problem and another and final surgery is going to be done in summer.

I've had 3 procedures done by Dr. Berkovich in the past 4 years (and am currently in the 2nd stage of a dental implant she will be doing next month. The first stage being the bone graft that she did to prepare the bone for the implant.) I have nothing but good things to say about her office and her work.
