Dr. Lyu is not just an Oral Surgeon but an MD as well. I was impressed with his chairside manner and attention to detail. He listened to my many concerns and the front desk staff were also helpful when I called several times with additional questions. Day of surgery I was stressed but found the experience not so awful due to the caring attitude of the Doc and chairside assistant. I would have another implant done without worry. The office looks very clean and modern. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

Dr. Lyu was fantastic in accomodating me pushing back my surgery date. When I finally got my wisdom teeth pulled, he was professional and concerned about my well-being and did an excellent job. Before I left, he gave me his home cell number just in case I needed to call with a problem over the weekend. His staff was very kind and when I called back a few weeks later to have something looked at again, they squeezed me in with no extra charge. Dr. Lyu was quite possibly the best oral surgeon my dentist could have sent me to. I would highly suggest going to him.

Would have probably been like any other dental office. But pricey and service was not all there. All staff was great except the front desk receptionist. The nurses or assistants were nice and helpful. Doctor knows what hes doing. Font desk service was terrible. She didn't even greet or acknowledge that we were there. We were on time and even a few minutes early. All she asked of us was money. I would have loved to give them a good overall review. First thing you notice is the front desk and she gave the worse service of all. After her, everybody else were easy going, sweet, caring, and nice.

Dr. Lyu performed my surgery and I was very satisfied with his treatment and follow-thru. The procedure was painless and I had very little post-surgery discomfort. He was responsive at all times during my treatment and I would highly recommend his services to all who might need oral surgery. As far as cost, considering the surgery I had, I feel Dr. Lyu charges a very fair fee for his services. Medical expenses seems never to be really affordable but when you receive good services it's well worth it. Dr. Lyu is an above average physician in skill and demeanor. I highly recommend him.

I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted at the same time by Dr. Lyu @ the age of 27. 3 of the wisdom teeth were impacted and I was very nervous about the surgery. Dr. Lyu was very patient and gave me great explaination of the procedure during the consultation.

Dr. Lyu put me under for the surgery. The surgery went smoothly. Dr. Lyu is very caring and is very good at what he does.

The front desk lady is very sweet and she provided useful insurance information.

Dr. Lyu has extracted my 4 wisdom teeth in one sitting. He is very skillful and extremely gentle with his procedure. He explained to me carefully what goes on during the extraction and gave me options about the extraction procedure. I appreciate his ongoing care as he gave me a call the day after the procedure to check up on me. He also checked up on me throughout the week. He is very concerned about his patients and passionate about his work. I recommend his superb service as well as his caring staff who made the procedure flow very smoothly.

I went to see dr. Lyu after reading recommendations on this website and was very happy with the treatment I received. Dr.Lyu performed biopsy of lymph in my mouth yesterday and I feel great. Very pleasant and calm person, explains procedure and options ahead and leaves pleanty of time for questions. He called me at home later in the evening to check how I was doing. I was quite confused with pain in my mouth before coming to his office and he performed my surgery within a weak. My longlasting pain was relieved and postoperative pain was minor. I recommend him and his staff wholeheartedly.

Dr. Lyu was really fantastic guy excellent bedside manners. I had gone in to have my lower molar extracted by him the procedure was very fast and painless. I had though that I would have to come back for the actual extraction since this was the first time I stepped into his office but he was able to give me an option of removing it that very day. It was great because I did not want to suffer another day of pain and come back sometime later. He was very accomodating and honest in helping me with the options that I have.

I was very happy with the procedure and his skills as a surgeon I definitively would highly him to anyone who is in need of a good oral surgeon.

Dr. Lyu extracted all four of my wisdom teeth a few months ago. He was very pleasant to work with and I fealt like he explained everything clearly including the risks, etc. He gave me options for anesthetic and I chose to be knocked out. The day of the surgery went very well and I don't remember anything. He prescribed pain medication but I stopped taking it after the first day as I really had no pain. Overall, the experience was as pleasant as I think it can be and I have no complaints. My mouth feels much better now that all my other teeth have some room to relax. He also called me personally the weekend after the day of my surgery to make sure everything was OK. I though that was a great touch and not something a lot of other doctors do. I'd highly recommend him to anybody facing any kind of oral surgery.

Doctor Lyu extracted both my daughters wisdom teeth and I believe he is the most pleasant and thorough doctor I've ever met. One of my daughters was very scared and he sense how nervous she was so he prescribed a valium for the day of surgery, which worked! He made follow up calls to me at home to be sure they were doing okay and when I called his office late one night to ask a question (not that urgent) he returned my call the very next day and told me I should have called his personal cell phone. He is a very nice and very concerned doctor. I would highly recommend him. Front desk was very professional as well.

My 14 year old daughter had all of her wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lyu last summer. I have never had such an outstanding experience with a medical professional in my adult life. I was referred to Dr. Lyu by my General Dentist, Dr. Felton, for an impacted wisdom tooth extraction. I went to the office to make an appointment for a consultation but, luckily, Dr. Lyu had some time and was able to see me right away. After the friendly staff took some X-rays, Dr. Lyu and I discussed all the positive/negative aspects of surgery and I decided to go through with it.

At 33 years old, this was my first ever surgery and I was simply terrified but went ahead and made an appointment for two days after that original consultation. I arrived on a Thurs afternoon after working all morning and fasting. All I remember is Dr. Lyu speaking to me while putting me on IV, and then I woke up what seemed only moments later and the procedure was a complete success. I went home and slept, Dr. Lyu called me the next day to check on me, and I had no bruising whatsoever and very little swelling. After a few days, I was completely functional and off painkillers.

Dr. Lyu and his staff were so friendly and patient with a newbie like me. I highly recommend him to anyone undergoing any kind of oral surgery - especially if they're nervous about it!

I was really scared about getting 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled out and Dr. Lyu calmed my nerves by explaning all the procedures to me beforehand and told me he would be as gentle as possible. And he kept his word! The surgery was done under 2 hours and he kept asking me if I was OK. Dr. Lyu showed genuine concern for me throughout the whole surgery. Plus, he sent me a personal written letter after the surgery to see if I was OK and for thanking me for being a great patient!

I would highly recommend Dr. Lyu to anyone that has to have their wisdom teeth removed!

I originally went in to see Dr. Broderick (the oral surgeon with the most positive reviews) but found out that Dr. Broderick wasn't available to perform my wisdom teeth extraction on the day I wanted. His practice partner, Dr. Lyu, was available so I decided to go ahead with it even though I never met him. I met Dr. Lyu only 2 minutes before the actual surgery, but as soon as he walked in I immediately felt comfortable then I passed into my blissful sleep. I woke up 2 hours later numb and swollen like a chipmunk, but in no real pain. In 3 hours the numbness wore off but I could barely feel any pain. An hour later I was almost functional despite having 4 teeth taken out (1 was impacted). He gave me a call that very evening and asked how I was doing; this was something that I didn't expect. To sum up everything, Dr. Lyu was nice, he made me comfortable, and probably gave me the best wisdom tooth extraction you can get--I went out with friends that very same night.

Dr. Lyu is the only oral surgeon I have ben to in S.F., but everything that I had done there was done quickly, painlessly, and on time. I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and within 2 days I was back at work. He called me the next night to make sure everything was ok, see how I was feeling, and seemed genuinely concerned and interested in my recovery. It did cost me alot of money, but I am not sure what it would have cost elsewhere. He explained everything to me really well, was patient, and very easy and kind to work with. Highly recommend him and his office.
