Patient Review 1:

This was my first root canal and I was very apprehensive! Not only did the whole staff put me at ease but they were not kidding when they said "you will not feel any pain." I couldn't believe it! There truly was no pain, everyone was wonderful, and Dr. Cohen and his team work like a well-oiled machine.I was encouraged to ask questions and I was informed about what was being done to the tooth during the procedure and afterward I was shown the final results. I cannot give Dr. Cohen a high enough recommendation!!

Patient Review 2:

I don't know where to begin. I have not stopped bragging about Dr Cohen since I left his office one week ago. His staff, Kathy and Tyson were very caring about fitting me into the schedule. They even scheduled me for a root canal on the same day of consultation if needed. Walking in, I was nervous, but as soon as Marcella spoke in her soothing voice, I knew I would be fine. Dr Cohen came in- most gentle, kind, and efficient specialist I have been treated by. He was so soothing. The horror stories and my past experience with root canal evaporated. Once he started root canal treatment, I was amazed. He must have some magic wand. I came out of there not wanting to leave. It was like I just had a spa or wellness treatment. I went back to ask the staff some questions, and they teased me about not wanting to leave. Dr Cohen asked me to call with any concerns. The best thing is - I was made to feel special by a humble, extremely knowledgable expert who called me the next day asking how I was feeling. I will not go to another Endodontist, and I highly recommend Dr Cohen as the best in his field, and extremely human. It was my good fortune in finding him after moving from Ohio.Best wishes, Usha

I was recently referred to Dr. Cohen for a root canal procedure and was extremely pleased with the customer service and the quality of work performed. I have great anxiety when it comes to dental work and the pain that accompanies it. Dr. Cohen's first words were "the pain stops here" and he was right. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen.

If you are looking for the best, and only the best, then look no further. My dentist recommended I see Dr. Cohen for an apicoectomy. Dr. Cohen promised ZERO pain and he stayed true to his word. My procedure was completed within 35 minutes (including time given to explain at-home care). I followed Dr.'s "care instructions" to a tee. I had no swelling. Pain registered 2 or 3 on a scale of 10.When I returned to Dr. Cohen's office for removal of stitches I knew the area was tender, and asked if there would be pain. He replied that he "wasn't about to start hurting me now" and he didn't! Pain-free! Dr. Cohen is kind and gentle. You leave his office with a smile on your face...because everyhting was so pleasant.Dr. Cohen is Sr. Editor of all editions of the definitive endodontics textbook, Pathways of the Pulp. His website is: www.unionsquareendo.com. Review the website. He's an expert in his field, and it shows!!!!!!

Simply perfect from beginning to end. Everything you would like to get: expertise, great patient care, attentive staff, modern facilities and equipment, etc, etc. As to price, I am sure it is cheap relative to getting the wrong treatment or having to be back in a month at a cheaper place.Dr. Cohen is simply great!

While it may be difficult to image having a great experience when you are getting root canal surgery, that is exactly what I have had as Dr.Cohen's patient. Not only is he the consummate knowledgeable professional (and the senior editor of a seminal text for students of endodontics) he is also a reassuring, kind, humorous and caring person. Quite a combination - and the impact on his patients couldn't be better!I actually like visiting his beautiful office. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the state-of-the-art equipment makes the experience as fast, thorough and painless as possible.Over the years, I have recommended several friends to Dr. Cohen and have never heard anything but the most favorable feedback from those who chose to see him. Personally, I can't say enough positive things about him and his office!

Patient Review 9:

Saw Dr. Cohen for an emergency root canal. The entire experience was excellent. He had a great manner, caring, yet seemed very professional and knowledgeable. Very experienced (in his sixties, probably) - had written text books and taught in dental schools. Actual procedure was painless. THey use a new type of x-ray that uses less radiation and displays images digatally on computer - very easy to see exactly what was going on, i.e. before and after images were helpful to me. Several days after the procedure, I was in pain and I called his office and they told me to come in at my convenience. Turned out it was secondary inflammation, so he wrote an rx for steroids - took care of the pain. Would highly recommend him. Staff were nice as well. Office is very nice inside - seems new - had soothing music - didn't seem like typical SF older office building.
Treatment Length with Dr. Cohen: 10 DAYS.

Patient Review 11:

Dr. Cohen and his staff are incredibly nice. They made an effort to make sure that I was comfortable during my root canal procedure, which only took 1 1/2 hours! The office is impeccably clean. Their digital imaging system made the whole procedure very efficient, fast and convenient. You don't have to move at all to another X-ray room, as in other dental offices. You sit in the same examination chair throughout the procedure as they bring any necessary tools to you. There was minimal pain during the procedure. Although I did experience some pain and soreness from my afflicted tooth afterwards, Dr. Cohen assured me that it would go away in a couple of days. Surely enough, the pain did dissipate 2 days after. However, I do experience a very slight soreness if I bite down hard on that tooth (it's been about 5 days after the procedure). Perhaps it needs more time to heal completely. Overall, it was a great experience (fast and pain-free) for a root canal. It is a little on the pricey side, but I guess you would expect to pay that much for that kind of service from a specialist.

I am a dentist who refers patients to Dr. Cohen. I have been his patient as well. He always does a wonderful job, even when it comes to the most difficult cases. His diagnostic and treatment skills are superb. My patients always come back happy and are amazed on how relaxing and professional Dr. Cohens office and staff are. And the best of all: fast and painless treatment!

Patient Review 13:

I recently had endodontic treatment at the offices of Dr. Stephen Cohen. Dr. Cohen had been highly recommended to me by both my general dentist and several friends who are very particular about their dental care. From the moment I entered the office I felt reassured and relaxed by the lovely atmosphere. Once I was seated in the chair and Dr. Cohen answered several questions that I had, I knew that I would be receiving the highest quality endodontic treatment. I am phobic about needles and injections and I felt absolutely nothing from the injection through the end of the treatment. I would actually look forward to another root canal only if it is performed by Dr. Cohen. I can not say enough about the level of care and professionalism that I received. My dentist told me that Dr. Cohen is the editor of the seminal textbook on endodontics, Pathways of the Pulp.

Patient Review 14:

Dr. Cohen was so kind and compassionate when I told him I was a dental paranoid. He stopped my pain so quickly and he did the whole root canal in only 1 visit! I was referred to him by my general dentist because I was having so much pain and my dentist could not find the tooth. In minutes Dr. Cohen figured out which tooth was making me hurt so much and he gave me a shot of novocaine and the pain was gone. Afterwards I had some soreness for a couple of days and I've had no pain since. Dr. Cohen has a great staff. His assistant even gave me a warm blanket because I was cold with fear. I hope I never need another root canal, but if I do I would only go back to Dr. Cohen.
