Case Description
Had a root canal( #13 )and onlay 2 years ago, bleeding at the site ever since when flossing. Past 2 months extreme burning mouth, feels like leeching toxins, sore gum and and jawbone over tooth #14 and receeding gum , and immediately between 13 and 14...One dentist wants to core and buildup and restore 14...one (who did root canal ) isn't sure what's going on but gave pain releif holistic meds...one wants to do crown lengthening on 13 and cap it...this dentist found area under the gum of #13 (root canal tooth) not smooth from onlay to tooth root..My concern is bacteria from infected area getting into bloodstream and causing inflamation and aggravating heart (have athero)Some dismiss this, some seems sympathetic to my concerns...Who's correct.....or able to give diagnosis? I am considering pulling #13 and doing implant but don't want to proceed with infection possible...Can't you go under the gumline and just smooth out and fill the uneven area?

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.
